Hey, I’m Rachel.

I help mental health professionals get better at what they do. Holding space like pros—and occasionally forgetting to drink water.

My Approach

Acceptance plus Expectation

We are all capable of being better tomorrow than we are today. If I didn’t believe that, I wouldn’t be here. Lifelong learning helps me to be the best version of myself in the room. Acceptance of who I am today plus excitement for who I can be tomorrow makes for an unbeatable combination.

Warmth plus Knowledge

Intellect without care is hubris. It’s all about how to combine what we know in our head with what we feel in our hearts. Sometimes I have trouble accessing my care and love for others to hold genuine space for them. I get in the way.

Realignment is the core of what we do. Re-finding my warmth and my space every day is a practice, one of many that helps me perform with pride.

The Handbook and the Newsletter

For new clinicians: I offer trainings and handbooks to help get you started. Check out “The First Fifty Questions”, it’s a course featuring real questions asked by clinicians in training like yourselves

For private practice therapists: Don’t have time to spend on being your own clinical director? Get the best of research, revitalize your practice, and collaborate without conferences in the privacy of your own time and space.

Consultations

For clinics or business: Want to set up a system or policy that focuses on healing and the bottom line? Want to make sure you are building the type of practice you want and attracting the therapists you need? I’m here to provide guidance on direction and policies.

For individual practitioners: Are you or your client, well, stuck? I do short term consultations designed to support the work you are doing, and help set them and you on the right path. I’m your guide on the side, so you can be the sage on the stage.

What Clients are Saying

"She’s wonderful."

Something a client said while meeting my husband out in the wild. (It’s my favorite compliment so far.)

"Rachel is a pleasure to work with. She stays calm under pressure and is able to manage the most complex of projects."

FAQ

  • Most of my courses are for early stage clinicians, i.e. people in the first five years of clinical practice. My newsletter is designed for all stages. If you’re up and coming, you’ve come to the right place.

  • I don’t offer credits, though many people find their Board will let them use these for Category II credit (so I do include hours). My main goal is to get you using practical clinical skills and building your confidence.

  • My materials and courses are geared towards people who have at least started a higher education degree in mental health of some kind (social work, psychologist, therapist, counselor).

  • I offer practical advice that reflects years of actual clinical work and is easy to use and adapt today. I’m real about mistakes, my own and others, and how we can catch and learn from each other.
